My Fishing Night!

I went fishing with Rick and Andrew on Lake Allatoona. I had a great time and actually reeled in an eight pound catfish that evening! I caught the bait from the live well and handed it to one of the guys to hook it on the line. Maybe next time I will be brave enough to hook it myself but, I don't think so! It has been several years since I have been fishing and caught a fish.

When the sun went down, it was an awesome site. The lake was calm, quiet and so relaxing. It was a pleasant evening and I had a great time fishing and enjoyed the company.

A Short Walk Down Memory Lane

And Forrester is spelled correctly!

The "Olden Days" at First Baptist Church in Indiana. I am not sure the purpose of this event but for some reason everyone dressed up from the "Olden Days." I can't remember who made all of our dresses and bonnets but, I do vaguely remember that event.

I always loved going down slides! For some odd reason the bolts were always on the sides of the slide where I would hold on going down. I always managed to cut my hands from the bolts that were rusty and coming loose. I sure am glad they don't make them like that anymore. My sister can't wait for the picture to be taken so she can push me down the slide and then plow me over!

Looks like a Sunday morning to me. Church, then come back to a big Sunday meal. My favorite was always the banana pudding for dessert!

We are all decked out in our new coats, go-go boots, and holding our bibles! The matching hair-do's we share is killing me! Definitely a night of sleeping in those uncomfortable, pink, spongy rollers!

The Train!

I always manage to get stopped by the train! This has to be one of the busiest tracks around because the gates are constantly going down and up, all day long. I love to hear the whistle and the sound of each car rolling on the tracks. My favorite thing is to see all the artistic graffiti spray painted on the cars!

The Picnic Table

One of my old favorite places to sit was on this picnic table and watch the boats and jet skis go by.  Sometimes the geese and ducks would walk by looking for food.  It's been a while since I have been here.  I miss the company, wine and conversations that took place here...

Dent "Wildman" Myers

Wildman's in Kennesaw, GA

It has been several years since I have been to Wildman's.  My cousin, who is a History teacher in the inner city of Chicago was visiting.  I thought I'd show her a little history tucked away in Kennesaw, GA.  I now remember why it has been so long since I have visited this place.  I rarely use the word HATE because to me, the meaning is so strong and so negative.  But this is definitely one of those moments where that is the only word to describe the feeling this place gives me.  When I stepped foot in here, all I could feel was the HATE that was in here.  Really kind of creepy and truly not the feeling I like to feel.  Have no desire to return.

Jekyll Island

My daughter and I took a vacation to Jekyll Island.  It was the first trip we have taken, with just the two of us.  We had an awesome time!  There will definitely be more trips planned in the future.

Every morning I got up early to see the sun rise over the ocean.  It was an amazing site.  The sound of the ocean waves hitting the sandy shore was so calming to me.  The birds would swoop down to catch their breakfast while baby birds would hop on the beach searching for theirs and then run away from the incoming waves.  When I took this picture, I never did noticed the dolphin swimming in the ocean.  It was definitely a pleasant surprise to see!

When we stepped out of the back door of our room, this was our view.  The ocean was just a short walk away.  I couldn't tell you how many miles we walked every day but we enjoyed every minute of it!

We found several sand dollars during our morning walks while the tide was low.  This was the first time I have ever found a sand dollar in my life!  We found six that were dried up and kept them.  We would of had eight but, a couple of them broke on accident.  The biggest sand dollars we saw were still alive, just like the one here and we left them on the beach where they belonged.

I have never seen this many Porsche's parked in one place before!  (I have never been to a Porsche dealership.)  I took a picture of the orange one because I totally feel in love with the color of it.  These were all displayed at the Jekyell Island Club Hotel.

Our splurge was to eat dinner at the Latitude 31 restaurant located on a pier.  Dinner was complemented with Lee's choice of a fine bottle of wine!  She knows wine better than anyone else I know.

There were several times when we had the beach to ourselves!  I was so nice to spend alone time with my daughter.  She is so awesome and I am blessed to have her in my life!
